Did I ever enjoy reading this article, Tony. Magic has always fascinated me in how it can entertain and capture an audience in such an intimate way. Entertainers on the whole, from stand up comics to magicians seem to have such an instinctive will and discipline to perform. I admire them greatly.
It is inspirational to see the ‘behind the scenes’ revelations of them as well, roaming back stage pensive and sullen at times, and then coming into the limelight transformed and sparkling. To me that is magic also, but the act itself I do love.
My favorite kind of magic is ‘street magic’ David Blaine blows me away with what he does, biting off the tips of coins and levitating seemingly at will. Chris Angel I used to like but he borders on creepy for me now. Not sure why he seems creepy and not David Blaine, come to think of it.
Anyway Tony, please answer me this question. Do you find someone like David Blaine or even Chris Angel good magicians or just entertainers who made it big? I would not ever bother to ask you if you know how certain tricks are performed, but what is the most difficult trick of illustion that you’ve ever seen performed?
Hey C, that’s easy my friend David Blaine is the real deal. You can’t call yourself a Magician if you don’t master “Sleight of hand” and your instincts were right about Mr, Angel he’s a little odd and certainly not in the same class as Blaine. Also to be a great Magician you have to be an expert at human nature and body language those are “key” ingredients and take a couple years before you start to get the hang of it. Like anything else its all about the work you put in, practice, practice, practice…….In answer to the most DIFFICULT illusion…..those would be escape effects that really force you to put your life on the line. One problem with your equipment, and you’re dead. Magicians are meticulous, as well as their asisstants. Everything is double and triple checked. After all there is no greater humiliation than being on stage with a paying audience booing you because an effect went south. There is NO room for error. So I’d say the most Difficult I ever saw in person…..was the Amazing Randy being, handcuffed, chained, hands and feet, Locked in a safe by an accredited Safe company (in other words no secret doors)…..and then dropped into the Potomac river. Where he finally escaped after over 4 minutes…….that was impressive! However its not the best trick I’ve seen just the most difficult…..hope that answers it bro……..thanks for checking it out…..magic and Magicians have helped the world in so many ways its difficult grasp…..suffice it to say,….it’ll never die….its to beautiful to watch…………….later C……….tony xx
