Because T is still feeling a bit drained after his latest surgery I have written this article on meditation and the chakras to help to keep the blog going while he`s resting. I`ve told him to stop doing so much because it`s wearing him out and he needs to rest! But like all men, he ain`t listening to us. So I hope this piece will help someone who is curious about meditation.
CHAKRAS – THE WHEEL OF LIFE.
Regular chakra meditation can transform your life by clearing out and enlivening your vital energy centre`s. This is the most direct way to heal ourselves on all levels of our being – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This facilitates awakening to The Truth Of Who We Are, and floods our entire being with the feel good hormone seratonin, that is the hormone that is produced by the brain when we do exercise and it is that hormone that antidepressants artificially re-produce. So meditation is a perfect and gentle yet natural way to help heal and relax the body and mind, and it is surprisingly easy to learn how to do it. It must be! because I am able to do it! If I can do it? then anyone can!!
An aura is the energy field surrounding all life forms, including the human body, often described as egg shaped. Light energy is drawn into this egg, which acts like a prism and brakes the light into its componant colour elements called `Chakras`.
The word `Chakra` comes from the Sanskrit word for `Wheel` or `Disc`. Their origin stems from the yoga system, more specifically from the Vedas. This system dates back as far as 2500 bc. There are hundreds of chakras on the body, but in its basic form it embodies seven major energy centre`s that are arranged vertically along the spinal column, starting at the coccyx and procceeding upward towards the crown of the head.
Chakras allow the free flow of energy, which promotes good health and vitality. If an energy blockage arises, this may cause physical ailments that correspond to the area of the blockage. By working with the chakras, a balance of energy can be maintained.
As we see in illustrations from books on this subject, each chakra is also represented with its own colour. You can see that the chakras are the colours of the spectrum, each of progressively higher vibration as we move up the chakra system.
The energy systems of the subtle bodies respond to thought, and by using directed meditation, it is possible to adjust the energy flow. With the chakras open, you are able to connect to the life force that permeates all of life, often referred to as `Prana` or `Chi`. As you begin to work with these subtle energies, it is likely that you will not notice any physical sensation, however, as you continue practising, your senses will develop and they will soon be able to feel the energy moving throughout the system.
The bottom three chakras allow healing energies from the earth to enter the body, and the top three chakras allow healing to enter from above. At the centre is the heart chakra, this allows for balance between these two energy types.
The chakras are clearly visible in auric photography and can reveal a great deal about a person. Unfortunately, to see the chakras using the naked eye is not easy. Some practised and lucky individuals are able to see the chakras system; others can develop their auric sight using certain exercises. Below are the chakras in order and colour.

So! that is the basics for the chakras, I found through meditation that I could make myself feel so much more relaxed and more energised. Have you seen the hot stone therapy? where the therapist places hot stones all the way up the body! they are placing those stones on the chakras to enable healing too. It is a wonderful way to relax and wind down.
I am certainly no expert on meditation, but what I have learnt has been of great help to me in the last couple of months, sinse I had that second stroke. Just go to your local library and see what books you can find on meditation and I feel sure that you will be able to help yourself simply by learning from them, about how to relax properly.
The relaxation lessons that you will find in the books teach you all about how to breathe properly, and those execises also lower the heart rate and so in turn that lowers your blood pressure. You can`t rush these things and it doesn`t happen over night, but once you get the hang of meditation, you will start to feel the benefits from it in your normal daily life. The plus side for me through these execises are that they are helping me to `Tune in` to get those little visions that I have told you all about. I hope this has been of some help to you all, so go ahead and meditate! just for a few minutes each day in a quiet room with no disturbances and I promise! you will eventually feel the benefits of it. Another plus is it`s free!!!!
